On the 20th of July, the Senior Modern Pentathlon European Championships continued by the women's qualification.
The right to compete for the medals of the championships in the individual competition was given to four Belarusians: Anastasiya Prokopenko, Tatsiana Khaldoba, Olga Silkina and Alexandra Suslova. To qualify for the finals, the athletes needed to get into the TOP-36 of 47 participants.
However, unfortunately, not all of our compatriots managed to cope with this task. The youngest belarusain participant of the semi-final Aliaksandra Suslava finished the competition with the forty second result and was not selected for the final.
The remaining Belarusians didn't have problems with getting into the finals. Girls successfully coped with swimming and fencing, coming to the laser-run on the high lines of their tournament tables.
It is worth noticing that the weather today wasn't on the side of the athletes. Especially difficult was to overcome the distance for the participants of the qualifying group B because of the wind. However, the girls withstood, proving that the weather can't be a hindrance for the final.
Best among the Belarusians became Tatsiana Khaldoba, who reached the final from the thirteenth line of the general table with 994 points in the end. The first number of the national team of the country Anastasiya Prokopenko finished the semi-final in group B and scored 992 points.
Also in the final of the championship we'll see Volha Silkina, who took the 23rd place (991 points) according to the qualification results.
The highest result in qualifying group A was shown by the Hungarian Sarolta Kovacs (1009 points), the strongest in the group B was Turkish Ilke Ozyuksel (993 points).
On the 21st of July men will fight for the places in the Individual Final. Belarus will be performed by Mikalai Hayanouski, Kirill Kasyanik, Ilya Palazkov and Pavel Tsikhanau.
