The winner and prize winners of the final of the second stage of the P. Lednev Cup of the 2026 season in the men's competition On February 28, the winner and prize winners of the final of the second stage of the P. Lednev Cup of the 2026 season in the men's competition were announced. 

The competition is being held in Minsk from February 25 to 28.

The strongest athletes according to the results of the stage qualification competed in the men's final. 

The winner of the competition was Egyptian Mohamed Ibrahim El-Akhtar, who demonstrated impressive consistency in his results throughout the tournament.

The silver medal went to his compatriot Omar Amer, who showed the best result in the final laser run discipline. 

Third place and the bronze medal went to Belarusian pentathlete Maxim Maruk, who showed the best result in fencing today.

The final began with a fencing tournament. The best result in this discipline was shown by Belarusian Maxim Maruk, who scored 250 points. Second place in fencing went to another representative of Belarus, Evgeny Orel, with a score of 244 points, and the top three after the first event was rounded out by Egyptian Mohamed Ibrahim El-Akhtar, who earned 238 points.

The next discipline was obstacle course. Mohamed Ibrahim became the undisputed leader here, strengthening his position in the final standings and taking the lead in the overall standings. His result was 379 points. Mohamed Hassan (also from Egypt) took second place with 373 points, while Maxim Maruk retained third place with 368 points.

The athletes then moved on to the pool. Mohamed Ibrahim El-Akhtar from Egypt was the fastest in the water, consolidating his lead and scoring 336 points. The second result in the pool was achieved by Russia's Andrei Zuev (329 points), with third place going to Egor Gromadsky (Russia), who finished with 326 points.

The final discipline of the competition, the laser run, was the highlight of the tournament. At the end of the race, Egyptian pentathlete Mohamed Ibrahim El-Akhtar, who started first, never allowed his rivals to get within striking distance and won the gold medal for the stage. Omar Amer from Egypt finished second in the laser run with 717 points, significantly reducing the gap between himself and the leader during the race. Maxim Maruk finished third with 657 points.

Thus, the winners and prize-winners of the second stage of the P. Lednev Cup of the 2026 season in the men's competition were:

Mohamed Ibrahim El-Akhtar (Egypt) — 1616 points

Omar Amer (Egypt) — 1599 points

Maruk Maxim (Belarus) — 1595 points

Dokuchaev Grigory (Russia) — 1585 points
