The semifinals of the second stage of the P. Lednev Cup for men The semifinals of the second stage of the P. Lednev Cup for men have come to an end. The names of the finalists who will compete for the stage awards are now known, including eight Belarusians, six Russians, and four Egyptians.

At the end of the day, two leaders stood out in terms of points: Mohamed Ibrahim and Omar Amer scored 1,592 points in all disciplines.

For Group A, the competition began with fencing, where the leaders were Egor Gromadsky (Russia, 270 points), Maruk Maxim (Belarus, 270 points), and Mohamed Ibrahim (Egypt, 255 points). 

The competition continued with the obstacle course. At the top of the points table after this discipline were Mohamed Ibrahim (Egypt, 377 points), Zakhar Sivitsky (Belarus, 370 points), and Maxim Maruk (Belarus, 366 points). 

In swimming in group “A,” Egyptian pentathlete Mohamed Ibrahim (337 points) proved to be the strongest. Alexander Kalugin (Belarus) came second in the qualifying group A swimming event with 330 points, while Valery Shchukin from the Russian team came third. 

Omar Amer (Egypt) was the first to finish the laser run, earning him 623 points. Vladislav Nesterov (Belarus) finished second with 687 points, and Kirill Karachin (Russia) finished third with 676 points.

As a result, the following three athletes emerged as leaders in qualifying group A:

Mohamed Ibrahim (Egypt) – 1592 points

Omar Amer (Egypt) – 1592 points

Vladislav Nesterov (Belarus) – 1581 points

Group B began the competition with an obstacle course, with Mohamed Hassan (Egypt, 366 points), Klim Gnedchik (Belarus, 365 points), and Maxim Fedotko (Belarus, 363 points) achieving the best results.

The next test was swimming. The most successful swimmers were Fedotko Maxim (Belarus, 329 points), Gusakov Roman (Russia, 329 points), and Melkozerov Vladislav (Belarus, 328 points).

Fencing was the next step for the athletes. Yaroslav Kulikovsky (Belarus, 256 points), Grigory Dokuchaev (Russia, 250 points), and Evgeny Bobylev (Russia, 250 points) stood out with their results.

The semifinals for the group ended with the traditional laser run. The best result in the discipline was shown by Egor Zorkin (Russia, 685 points), followed by Kirill Manuilov (Russia), who was 6 points behind, and Nazar Sivitsky (Belarus, 668 points), who rounded out the top three.

Thus, the top three leaders in Group B after the semifinals are as follows:

Grigory Dokuchaev (Russia) - 1571 points

Mohamed Hassan (Egypt) - 1564 points

Vladislav Melkozerov (Belarus) - 1562 points
