The semifinals of Stage II of the P. Lednev Cup for women On February 25, the semifinals of Stage II of the P. Lednev Cup for women began.

For the first time, the competition was held under new rules: the swimming distance was reduced to 100 meters, and a fifth shooting round was added to the laser rifle event. In addition to Belarusian and Russian pentathletes, representatives from Egypt, Jana Attia, Salma Abdelmaksoud (two-time world champion in mixed events) and Haidi Morsi (world champion in the women's relay) took part in the competition. At the end of the semifinals, Violetta Gureeva from Gomel was the most successful, scoring 1,437 points.

Each discipline had its own leaders. The best result in fencing was shown by Victoria Sazonova — the athlete from Russia won 31 victories and scored 262 points. Two Belarusian athletes made it into the top 6: Marina Nikolaeva (4th place - 250 points) and Violetta Gureeva (6th place - 246 points). 
Next, the girls faced an obstacle course. The best result in this discipline was 32.48 seconds, achieved by Violetta Gureeva, who scored 348 points. Just three points behind was Yana Mohamed from Egypt, who completed all the obstacles in 33.59 seconds. In third place was Victoria Sazonova from Russia. Belarusian Irina Prosenkova

The leaders in fencing and the swimming obstacle course lost their positions to Alisa Melnikova (305 points for swimming) and Anastasia Malashenko (301 points and second place in swimming).

The girls started the laser run in two starting groups. Violetta Gureeva had the best result in the semifinals, followed by Viktoria Sazonova in second place and Anastasia Malashenoka from Belarus in third place.
