The Chairman of the Belarusian Modern Pentathlon Federation, Mihail Prokopenko, will participate in significant congresses for European and world modern pentathlon in Riyadh (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).

On November 15, 2024, the Congress of the European Confederation of Modern Pentathlon (ECMP) will take place, where a president and vice-presidents of the confederation will be elected. Currently, ECMP is headed by Tatyana Ardabyeva, the Secretary General of the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Russia.

On November 16-17, 2024, the 73rd Congress of the International Union of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) will take place, featuring elections for the president, vice-presidents, and members of UIPM committees and commissions. UIPM is currently led by Klaus Schormann. The agenda of the UIPM Congress will also include a number of issues concerning amendments to the rules across all modern pentathlon disciplines, medical services, and anti-doping procedures.

Earlier, the Belarusian Modern Pentathlon Federation proposed candidates from Belarus for election to the athletes' and coaches' committees, as well as to the UIPM Technical Committee. However, none of the candidates were approved.

During the 73rd UIPM Congress, the proposals from the Belarusian Modern Pentathlon Federation will be considered:

  1. To maintain equestrianism as a non-Olympic discipline in the rules and format for 2024;
  2. To hold an annual World Championship in modern pentathlon with equestrianism under the auspices of UIPM, as well as, where possible, to conduct continental championships with equestrianism;
  3. To prevent the politicization of sports and politically motivated speeches at the UIPM Congress in 2024;
  4. To lift all sanctions imposed on Belarusian and Russian representatives of modern pentathlon effective January 1, 2025.
