July, 19 Senior European Modern Pentathlon Championships was continued with Men’s Relay.
12 teams among men were on the start. Mikalai Hayanouski and Aliaksandr Poupe represented Belarus in this kind of competition.
Our compatriots were not very successful in swimming performance, they took the seventh place. Belarusians showed the result of 1:55,10 that was 7 seconds worse, than the winners in swimming, team of Great Britain (Myles Pillage and Bradley Sutton).
After Fencing our athletes couldn’t improve their result. Poupe and Hayanouski stayed on the seventh place in Men’s Relay. The duo from Czech Republic became the best in this kind of competition. Ondrej Polivka and Martin Bilko got 557 points and were also winners in two first disciplines. And teams from Hungary and Russia followed them.

Unfortunately, Fencing Bonus-Round didn’t bring points to Belarussians. The owners of the competitions were failed to score by the Spaniards. The Pyreneans showed winning streak of 4 victories and were stopped by German team. The Russian duo Ilia Frolov and Alexander Savkin had the resulting victory, they beat in final battle the team of Czech Republic.
In Riding Competition the Belarussians repeated yesterday’s success of women team. Our athletes didn’t get any penalty and gained 300 points. Thanks to this the team of the owners became the fifth and went closer to the top places.
At the start of the Laser-Run competition the teams from Czech Republic and Russia were 20 seconds faster than others. The Belarussian duo was 3 seconds slower then the team from Germany which was on the third position. A team of Poland was also between the opponents. After the Belarussians were athletes from Hungary and France. The first stage of Laser-Run didn’t change anything. The Belarussian team lost one position, Frenchmen were ahead of them. The second stage decided the destiny of medals. Ondrej Polivka who was the leader should keep the first position, and he did it.
The serious battle was for the second place. Final shooting range was finished by Germany, France and Poland. The fastest among them was the athlete from France Alexandre Henrard, the third place was taken by German competitor Marvin Faly Dogue.
As a result, the Belarussian team lost 30 seconds and became the sixth. On the July 20th the Championships will be continued by the semi-final among women. Belarus will be presented by Anastasia Prokopenko, Tatsiana Khaldoba, Volha Silkina and Aliaksandra Suslava.
